Basic Button-up Procedures for Code Yellow:
- Students and staff return to the nearest
lockable room as quickly as possible.
- Teachers lock classroom doors and close windows and blinds.
Door windows should also be covered. Administrator and custodian
lock all other doors.
- Teachers take roll and then communicate to office via
classroom radios (or intercom) of missing students or adults.
Office staff will appoint a designee who will try to locate missing
students or adults.

for students in bathroom.

- Staff should inform students that an emergency situation
exists and that they need to remain in the classroom until further
notice.
- Do not open doors or windows until the "All Clear"
signal (a long bell and a verbal "all clear" announcement
over the P.A. system) is given, or until teachers are given verbal
instruction via classroom phones or radios.
Administrative Director/Designee:
- Call 911.
- Call district office on emergency radio.
Note: Teachers and other staff:
A teacher may make the decision to button-up their room if they
